Week 1 - Columbus Training

I've decided I'm going to run a marathon. Columbus is October 18th, and that's what I'm aiming for.

I'm optimistic but also realistic. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. I will still enjoy the training aspect of it (which may sound crazy to some). My goal is to run the distance and feel as good as possible doing so. I plan on biking more to help get myself stronger, something I didn't do (any kind of body strength/cross-training) when I attempted before.

So week 1 has come and gone... only 15 more to go :)

Sunday - 3.5ish hilly miles with a friend (and a long, even hillier game of disc golf- whew!)
Monday - 0, much needed rest
Tuesday - 3.5 miles
Wednesday - 0, bagged the free 5K in Loveland because we had to fix the home internet :(
Thursday - 4.75 in lovely, not humid 70ยบ weather
Friday - 13 mile bike ride, it was a bit hilly and windy. Need to ride on the roads more often.
Saturday - 0 (traveling)

Tonight I'm going to run 8 miles... 5 with a friend and then an extra 3 by myself to get the miles in. Hopefully it goes well, as I feel like this run will be the official kick-off for starting to build miles. I've never split up mileage like this before, but I think it will be great – it won't seem as daunting. I'll have to remember this trick when I attempt to run 20...
